JAKARTA: The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) issued on Tuesday its first quarter investment figures that revealed Singapore and Japan to be Indonesia’s biggest foreign investors in the period.
According to the BKPM, the 10 biggest foreign investors were Singapore, Japan, South Korea, the UK, the US, Malaysia, the Netherlands, the British Virgin Islands, Hong Kong, and China.
Singapore and Japan each invested US$1.2 billion.
For this year, the government expects to draw in Rp 519.5 trillion ($40.2 billion) in foreign and domestic investments.
During the first quarter of this year, Indonesia saw an increase in both domestic and foreign investment worth Rp 124.6 trillion, according to the BKPM.
