SINGAPORE: The port of Singapore has handled higher container throughput in January, according to preliminary estimates from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) here the other day.
Last month, Singapore port moved 2.78m teu, an increase of 3.3% compared to 2.69m teu in the same period of 2014, data from MPA showed.
Singapore was ranked the world’s second busiest container port with an annual throughput of 33.87m in 2014, falling behind first place Shanghai port which registered throughput of 35.29m teu.
