SINGAPORE: Singapore shares edged down on Tuesday morning and the Straits Times Index (STI) was 5.9 points or 0.17 per cent lower at 3,476.80 as at 9.05am, despite Wall Street’s climb overnight.
Investors are waiting to see if Australia’s central bank would cut interest rates to a record low as expected, driving the country’s main index up 1.1 per cent.
Some of the most active stocks include Stratech, Tigerair and Yuuzoo.
Some 76.6 million shares worth S$56.4 million changed hands, with gainers outnumbering losers 80 to 70.
