SINGAPORE: The Singapore Straits Times Index (STI) opened up 0.58 per cent or 17.52 points at 3,032.66 on Friday morning.
This was after Wall Street logged solid gains following upbeat US price and jobless claims data, and mounting speculation that the Federal Reserve will put off raising interest rates until 2016.
As at 9am, a total of 57.6 million shares worth S$87.3 million changed hands. Gainers outnumbered losers 108 to 26.
Investors will be looking forward to China’s latest economic growth data scheduled to be released on Monday.
