SINGAPORE: Singapore Technologies Telemedia has acquired a major stake in British data centre provider Virtus for an undisclosed amount as the investment firm looks to expand its global footprint.
ST Telemedia, through its wholly-owned subsidiary STT GDC Pte Ltd, will enter a joint venture with the UK firm’s current owner Brockton Capital for a 49 per cent stake in Virtus Data Centres.
ST Telemedia invests in communications, media and technology businesses, and currently has a presence globally through its portfolio companies.
The investment in Virtus is in step with its aim of continued growth and footprint expansion in the UK, ST Telemedia said in a statement here the other day.
