SAN DIEGO: Border Patrol agents rescued six men who were locked inside a hot railroad boxcar in an apparent human smuggling attempt.
Police in El Centro received a 911 call from inside the car. Agents found five Mexican nationals and one American citizen inside, all of whom were suffering from dehydration.
Agents say the men had a portable cooler and water inside the car, but had to call for help when the cooler broke and they ran out of water. The American was arrested on smuggling charges.
