KARACHI: Six ships, C.V MSC Joanna, C.V Al-Rawdah, M.V Rui Ning-2, M.V Frauke, M.T Argent Freesia and M.T Genie carrying containers, Coal, Project Cargo, Phosphoric Acid and Furnace oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) here on Tuesday.
Meanwhile four more ships CMA CGM Amazon, Express Black Sea, Umm Bab and Frontier Leader with Containers, LNG and Canola Seeds also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was managed at the port at 56% on Monday where a total of nine ships namely, MSC Joanna, Al-Rawdah, RB Eden, Ginga Lion, Rui Ning-2, Frauke, Argent Freesia, Ginga Lion and Genie are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Coal, Yellow Soya Bean, Chemicals, Palm oil and Furnace oil respectively. Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 108,185 tonnes, comprising 101,839 tonnes import cargo and 6,346 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,677 containers TUEs) 2,343 imports TUEs and 334 TUEs exports) was handled at the port. Three ships Ginga Loin, MSC Joanna and Al-Rawdah sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships Frauke and Express Black Sea are expected to sail on same day afternoon.
Six ships C.V Express Black Sea, C.V Maersk Memphis, C.V CMA CGM Amazon, M.T Umm Bab, M.T Maritime Yuan and M.T Bunga Allium carrying Containers, LNG and Palm oil are expected to take berths at Containers Terminal, Elengy Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Liquid Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
