Six ships take berth at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Six ships C.V X-Press Kailash, C.V Northern Magnum, C.V MSC Al-Ghero, M.V Wish Way, M.V Da De and M.T Genuine Galaxy scheduled to load/offload to containers, Dredger, General Cargo and Palm oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Port Qasim Electric Power Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) here on Wednesday.
Meanwhile two more ships, Gas carrier Umm Bab and Edible oil carrier Sky Ploeg also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy remained at the port at fifty six percent on Tuesday where a total of ten ships namely, X-Press Kailash, Northern Magnum, MSC Al-Ghero, Eternal Trump, Wish Way, Da De, White Purl, Star Trader, Genuine Galaxy and Bahra are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Cement, Dredger, General Cargo, LPG, Soya Bean Seeds, Palm oil and Diesel oil respectively.
Cargo handling registered an upward trend at the port where a cargo volume of 127,544 tonnes, comprising 108,791 tonnes import cargo and 18,753 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,241 Containers TEUs) 2,238 imports TEUs and 703 TEUs exports) was handled during last 24 hours.
Oil tanker `Bahra’ sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning. M.T New Naxos carrying 68,313 tonnes Furnace oil is expected to take berth at FOTCO Oil Terminal on Wednesday, while an oil tanker Pvino Spirit is due to arrive at PQ on same day and Container Vessel Suez Chanel is due to arrive on Thursday.
