LJUBLJANA: Slovenia’s exports rose by 4.8% to EUR 17.78bn in the first nine months of the year, compared to the same period in 2014, according to the Statistics Office.
Imports were also up, by 2.7% to EUR 17.18bn. This puts the export-import ratio at 103.5% and trade surplus at EUR 599.8m.
In September, the export-import ratio was at 108.6%, with the trade surplus standing at EUR 171m, the highest this year.
The Statistics Office attributes this to higher exports to EU countries and lower imports from third countries.
Slovenia exported EUR 2.17bn worth of goods in September, which is 1.3% more than in the same month last year. Imports value reached EUR 1.99bn, down 0.3% year-on-year.
Both figures were however higher than last year’s average monthly export and imports figures, by 13.6% and 6.3%, respectively reports.
