Smartphone app Daisy helps to resolve family violence, available on Google Play store for Android

MELBOURNE: Australian Domestic violence campaigner Rosie Batty has launched a smart phone app that can connect users easily to domestic violence and other support services tailored to their state and local area.

The app, known as Daisy, also links users to their nearest legal, housing, finance and children’s services.

“The phone is often the thing you keep the closest so to have all this information on an app is fantastic,” Ms Batty said in Melbourne.

“It’s helpful and convenient and it will make connecting to the right organizations a lot easier.”

Daisy was developed by support service 1800 respect and is funded by the Commonwealth government. The free app is now available at the Google Play store for Android phones and will soon be at the App Store for iPhones.
