Islamabad ASO seizes smuggled goods, vehicle worth Rs 1.289m

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Islamabad impounded various smuggled goods along with an offending vehicle (vehicle used for carrying smuggled goods) worth Rs1.289million.

According to details told by Deputy Collector ASO Ansir Anics that on a tip-off received by Collector Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad, the ASO set up a picket at GT Road Peshawar to Rawalpindi and intercepted a Shahzor truck with registration No: FDS-1537. She asked the possessor of the smuggled goods to show the legal documents of the goods but he failed to provide any relevant document.

The ASO staff impounded the vehicle and brought it to State Warehouse. The seized goods comprise 476 MOBO mobile phones, three laptops and 11 kilograms of Viagra tablets.

The raiding team comprised Inspector Asif Mehmood, Hawaldar Shaukat, Riaz, Makbool and other supporting staff. The case has been forwarded to Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) Department for further investigation.
