Smuggled Range Rover Jeep confiscated through ONO

KARACHI: Collector of the Customs Collectorate of Adjudication-I, Syed Shahanshah Hasnain has issued an Order-in Original (ONO) No. 554/2013-14 in which a tampered, non-duty paid smuggled vehicle, Range Rover Jeep bearing Registration No. BE-2010 has been confiscated. The value of confiscated vehicle was Rs 2,000,000.

The case was constituted by the Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation-Customs Regional Office on 19-12-2013 while the judgment of the case was made on 22-04-2014.

On credible information DI&I intercepted the Range Rover Jeep near National Stadium, Karachi. The driver was asked to produce legal import documents which he failed to produce.

Therefore, the Range Rover Jeep bearing Registration No. BE-2010, Chassis No. 35641565F, Engine No. 3L-1895385, Model 1977 was confiscated.

The particulars of the vehicle were not available in the data of imported vehicles establishing that it was not imported into Pakistan, but was smuggled. The owner of the vehicle was called upon to show cause as to why seized vehicle may not be confiscated.

Afterwards through a judgement the vehicle was out rightly confiscated.
