Smuggled Toyota Coaster impounded by Customs Intelligence

FAISALABAD: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has impounded a Non-Duty-Paid Toyota Coaster (20-Seater) worth Rs4.5million involving customs duty and taxes of Rs5.3million en route from Quetta to Rawalpindi.

According to details, the Customs Intelligence officials intercepted a vehicle in the jurisdiction of Faisalabad Intelligence and asked the driver named Ali Ahmed son of Muhammad Ismail to show documents regarding the customs clearance of the vehicle but he failed to produce anything legal.

Therefore officials impounded the vehicle bearing chassis No: BB23-0003708 under the prevailing customs bylaws. The team of the Customs Intelligence conducted the raid under the supervision of Superintendent Salim Ullah. A case has been registered against the accused.

Officials said the Customs Intelligence and Investigation has started focusing on the non-duty-paid vehicles adding raids were being conducted on daily basis.
