Smugglers attacked customs staff with weapons, FIR registered

ISLAMABAD: The Customs ASO staff of MCC Islamabad have filed a FIR at Thana Mandhra against notorious smuggler Papa Shakeel and his companions who attacked on Customs staff with guns and iron rods and snatched one seized Mazda truck loaded with huge quantity of smuggled goods.

According to FIR (first information report) provided to Customs Today, on secret information of Seema Raza Bokhari the Collector MCC (model customs collectorate) Islamabad that huge quantity of smuggled goods will be attempted via GT road Mandra, pursuing the said information the ASO (anti smuggling organization) squad led by Superintendents Arif Dar and Matloob Shah along with Inspectors Asghar Kamal, Azhar Jafri, Gul Nawaz and Shafiq ul Rehman and staff of grade v made naka bandi at GT Road Mandha.

When spotted the three Mazda trucks bearing registration nos LWN-6951, EA-3155,LRJ-1186 coming from Rawalpindi side towards Lahore, the  Customs staff signaled the trucks and found huge quantity of smuggled goods while after getting no evidence against smuggled goods, the staff seized the goods including offending vehicles (vehicles carrying smuggled goods) whereas when seized goods were shifted towards SWH (State ware house) Islamabad by Customs staff accompanied by seized trucks reached near toll plaza Mandhra the renowned smuggler Shakeel Ahmad Sati known as (Papa Shakeel) owner of Pindi Karwan Logistic cell Ghang Mandi Rawalpindi, Munir Ahmad known as Fuji and Ahmad Umer carrying ammunition along with 50 to 60 iron rods possessors stopped the Customs staff.

The smugglers were driven by vehicles comprises Honda Civic ABE-717, Land Cruise JJ-607, Hino truck 3475 and Mazda truck LWN 6951, and attacked on the Customs staff, it added that during the attacked Customs Sepoy Muhammad Iqbal, Muhammand Abass Raja and Sepoy Atiq ul Rehman and Customs’s vehicle Driver Anyal Ullah who was driving the Mazda truck No. LWN 6951 were got injured, it added that smugglers not only tortured the Government officials but they snatched mobile phone, service cards, violets, ATM cards, CNICs along with Rs.11000 rupees cash whereas the smugglers also attacked with stones on vehicles and Government staff and fractured front screens of Government vehicles while damage the body of Customs vehicle bearing registration Nos.GAB-813, GAB-814.

The smugglers snatched the Mazda truck EA-3155 with help of weapon by the staff which was loaded with the foreign origin smuggled goods, the Mazda was under custody of Pakistan Customs staff those were on their way to SWH, it is mention-able here that Papa Shakeel is perpetual smuggler who had already made many cases of this type against Customs staff , many FIRs already have been registered against him in different police stations, Papa Shakeel always challenge the writ of the state while doing smuggling it mention in FIR.
