Smuggling goods & NDP vehicles impounded by Islamabad ASO during four days

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Islamabad took into possession smuggling items and smuggled vehicles valued at Rs15.17million from 19th to 22nd of September Financial Year (FY) 2017-18.

According to details explained by Majid Hussain Gadd, Assistant Colletor ASO Islamabad, that, during above said period, the ASO impounded seven offending vehicles worth Rs5.6million whereas the ASO took into possession two body-changed Non-Duty-Paid (NDP) vehicles priced at Rs1.7million.
Assistant Collector told CT that, during above said period, the ASO impounded 55.6 yards of foreign origin smuggling cloths valued at Rs3.01million while the ASO Islamabad did 2000 packs of foreign origin fake cigarettes worth Rs1.05million.
Majid Hussain Gadd further told CT that, during 19th to 22nd September FY17-18, the ASO Islamabad confiscated various types of other smuggling goods priced at Rs3.81million. Collector MCC Islamabad Dr. Saeed Khan Jadoon has geared up the drive against smugglers and tax evaders.
Regarding the performance of Car Cell of MCC Islamabad, he said the car cell has also become active and is making crackdowns on the possessors of NDP vehicles within the jurisdiction of the MCC Islamabad.
