Smuggling items valued at Rs465.79m confiscated during two months by Peshawar ASO

PESHAWAR: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Peshawar seized various smuggling goods worth Rs465.79million during the first two months (July to August) Financial Year (FY) 2017-18.

According to details given by Zakir Muhammad while talking with Customs Today that, during the first two months of FY17-18, the ASO showed brilliant performance by impounding different types of smuggling goods, offending and Non-Duty-Paid (NDP) vehicles.
He said that, during said period, the ASO confiscated 89 offending and 29 NDP vehicles. The ASO also seized 197,877 kilogram of foreign origin fabrics in different seizures. During the first two months from July to August, the ASO took into possession three weapons while it did 14,374 kg of tea and the ASO Peshawar confiscated 4,046 of tyres and tubes during above said period.
The Deputy Collector said the ASO also impounded 37 auto-parts, 61 bottles of liquors, 858 litres of smuggling Mobil oil, 26.699 kg of gold/silver, 2,388 packs of fake cigarettes, 1,727 electronic items, 01 pirated CD, 1,558 miscellaneous brands of Gutka, 10 generators, 2,175 smuggling mobile phones and huge quantity of other miscellaneous smuggling goods from July to August FY2017-18.
