Smuggling of 15 kg hashish from Afghanistan into Pakistan arrested

KHYBER AGENCY: The Customs and Khasadar Force foiled an attempt of narcotics smuggling from Afghanistan into Pakistan via Torkham border by recovering 15 kg hashish from two drug smugglers at Pak-Afghan sharing border of Torkham on Wednesday.

Political Naib Tehsildar Shams-ur-Rehman told CT that Khasadar troops, performing their routine duties, checked two Peshawar-bound Afghan national passengers. During a thorough search, 15 kg hashish was recovered from them, which was hidden in their luggage.

The two Afghan national smugglers, identified as Naqibullah S/o Zahirullah andGul Agha S/o Qais of Samar Khel district of Nangarhar province of Afghanistan, were arrested and sent to Landi Kotal lockup for further investigation, the official added.

Meanwhile, six Afghan citizens were apprehended at Torkham border when they were crossing the border into Pakistan without legal travelling documents.
