KARACHI: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling directed the investigation officer to submit an interim charge-sheet in a case pertaining to the smuggling of cellular phones and foreign liquor into the country.

Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi gave this direction while hearing the bail application filed by Pakistan International Airlines staffer seeking his release on bail. The court put off the application until December 14.  When asked about interim challan, Akbar Ahmed, the investigation officer, told the court that he needed some time to complete investigation and submit challan as he had summoned the crew members, who were on board a flight PK-502 in which goods were smuggled into the country from Dubai. He said that he believed the suspect was not alone involved in the offence.
