“Bahawalpur is a suitable place for this plant because it is desert area where sunrays are available in sufficient quality and quantity,” he said.

Baleegh said that this solar project would be beneficial for the industrial sector especially when the Punjab government has announced to setup an industrial zone in Bahawalpur soon.

Besides, he said unemployment would reduce after the establishment of industrial zone there.

The Minister said that the present government was giving due attention towards socio economic development of Bahawalpur as the area remained neglected in past.

Baleegh said that 100MW solar project has been completed in minimum time, while its capacity would be enhanced up to 1000MW gradually, hoping that the prevailing energy crisis would ended by the years 2017-18.
