Somon Air to start Dushanbe-Lahore operations from 6th

ISLAMABAD: Somon Air of Tajikistan will start its operations between two sister cities of Dushanbe and Lahore from May 6.

According to the airlines sources, flights between both the cities will operate twice a week on every Monday and Friday. The total flight time between the sister cities would be around one hour and 30 minutes.

On every Friday the flight will leave Dushanbe at 20:20 hours and arrive Lahore 21:50. It will return from Lahore at 23:50 and reach Dushanbe at 01:40 hours.

The second Flight of the week (on Monday) would leave Dushanbe at 2100 hours and arrive Lahore at 22:30 hours. It will depart Lahore at 00:30 hours and reach Dushanbe at 02:20 hours. Somon Air is the first private airline in Tajikistan with an office headquartered in Dushanbe.

The airline operations are based at Dushanbe International Airport. The airline started operating on February 5, 2008 with regular flights to Moscow and Dubai. The airline also serves as the official carrier of President of the Republic of Tajikistan and other Tajikistan high-ranking officials.

Since formation, Somon Air has been primarily focused on passenger service and transportation to Eastern Europe and other locations. Most flights to international destinations operate from Dushanbe.
