LONDON: Sony Corp has come up with its Xperia Z4 tablet, which it says is the thinnest and lightest tablet till date. The new tablet is waterproof and runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop platform.
When Sony announced the launch of its Xperia Z2 at the 2014 Mobile World Congress (MWC), it was considered to be the thinnest tablet in the market. But the new Z4 tablet has enhanced features. Its chipset is a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810, and it has an 8.1MP back camera with a 5MP front camera. It also offers double the internal memory than the previous version.
The device is waterproof and can last up to 30 minutes in 1.5m deep water. Moreover, features such as Bluetooth, keyboard, and Microsoft office productivity suite have been added.
Sony also introduced three new accessories along with the Z4 tablet. The launch of these accessories is expected in June 2015. It includes a Sony BKB50 Bluetooth keyboard, which is said to bring a premium laptop experience to the user. The latest Sony SRC32 tablet cover is a flip case that doubles as a stand with two fixed positions, and the SonyBSP60 smart Bluetooth player has one-touch connectivity.
