TOKYO: For PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita owners, PlayStation Plus has long been a way to keep gaming with spending very little with free games every month. And now the savings go further.

A bone of contention for many a PlayStation Plus subscriber is that their Xbox Gold subscribing counterparts also get exclusive discounts and offers, beyond just free games. This is about to change.

“We’ve been listening to your feedback, and today I’m thrilled to announce PlayStation Plus Specials, our brand-new deals program offering exclusive discounts for PS Plus members on the newest games and add-ons. That’s right, these deals will be available to PS Plus members only,” said Chieh Chen, Digital Distribution Manager, Sony Network Entertainment in a post on the PlayStation Blog.

On offer during the inaugural PlayStation Plus Specials week, is Bloodborne for $47.99 (Rs. 3,070) – on sale for the first time ever on PlayStation Store. Furthermore, bundles for Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, Dragon Ball Xenoverse, and Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines are discounted solely for PS Plus members.

While these offers are on the US PlayStation Store, it’s just a matter of time before PlayStation Plus exclusive deals hit other regions like India.

Much like its predecessor, the PlayStation 4 has seen strong sales in the country and surprisingly good uptake in terms of digital game downloads as well. While there’s no price drop on the console in sight, deeper discounts on games are always welcome.
