JOHANNESBURG: South Africa Customs seized 200 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine worth R59 million at OR Tambo International Airport here the other day.
Two separate parcels from the West African country of Benin were identified for further checks and sniffer dogs reacted positively to the cargo.
Sars spokesperson Marika Muller said it’s the biggest seizure of tik at the Johannesburg airport.
“On examination, they found a crystal lines, sugar like substance. Two tests have confirmed the substance to be crystal meth also known as tik.”
