CAPE TOWN: South Africa exported 74.42 million mt of bituminous thermal coal in 2014, customs data showed Monday.
No comparable year-on-year data was available.The country’s December shipments jumped 23% on the month to 7.41 million mt, the highest level of the year, the data showed.India accounted for the lion’s share of South African coal exports in 2014, taking delivery of 30.45 million mt, while the Netherlands was the next largest recipient, taking 9.69 million mt.
