SEOUL: South Korean stocks ended almost flat on Monday as investors took to the sidelines ahead of the first-quarter earnings season, analysts said. The local currency firmed against the U.S. dollar.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) inched up 1.01 points, or 0.05 percent, to 2.046.43. Trading volume was moderate at 454 million shares worth 4.69 trillion won (US$4.33 billion), with gainers outpacing decliners 473 to 339.
