SEOUL: South Korean stocks traded 1.12 percent lower late Wednesday morning, dented by losses in construction and logistics shares, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) fell 21.96 points to 1,934.30 as of 11:20 a.m.
Builders traded bearish, with Hyundai Engineering & Construction falling 0.6 percent and Daelim Industrial moving down 3.52 percent.
Logistics shares also traded lower, with Hyundai Glovis decreasing 1.39 percent and CJ Korea Express losing 2.65 percent. Top air carrier Korean Air slid 4.23 percent.
The local currency was changing hands at 1,185.25 won against the greenback as of 11:20 a.m., down 0.25 won from Tuesday’s close.
