SEOUL: South Korea’s business confidence is set to rise in August, survey data from Bank of Korea showed Friday.
The manufacturers’ business confidence index for August rose by 3 points to 70. Also, the business survey index on business conditions rose 4 points to 70 in July.
On seasonally adjusted basis, the business confidence indicator grew 6 points to 73 in August and the BSI index increased by 7 points to 71 in July.
In the non-manufacturing sector, the confidence index for August increased by 5 points to 71 and the BSI on business conditions gained 4 points to 69 in July. After seasonal adjustment, the index for August grew by 8 points to 75 and the BSI for July rose by 6 points to 70.
The economic sentiment index, a composite of the BSI and the consumer survey index, for July rose to 92 from 88. The survey was conducted among 3,313 companies between June 16 and 23.
