Sowing targets of Rabi crops achieved

MULTAN: The Punjab Agriculture Department has completed sowing targets of different crops and vegetables of Rabi season except onion.

This was revealed by Executive District Officer (Agriculture) Shafqat Bhatti while talking to APP here. He informed that wheat was cultivated at areas of 462,000 acres against target of 452,000 acres, gram (channa) on 40 acres (target 40), tomato on 255 acres (target of 259), garlic on 218 acres (target 250), sunflower on 3000 acres (target-3171), mustard rape seed on 3290 acres (target 3329) and onion on 1834 acres (target 5417) in the on-going season of Rabi.

He informed that they had almost completed all the set targets and added that the onion sowing target would be achieved very soon. He hoped that agriculture department would achieve onion sowing targets within next one month, he added.
