MADRID: Spain’s foreign trade deficit decreased in June from a year ago, as exports rose and imports fell, figures from the Economy Ministry showed Friday.
The trade deficit fell to EUR 1.35 billion in June from EUR 2.04 billion in the corresponding month last year.
Exports grew 2.1 percent year-over-year to EUR 22.68 billion in June. At the same time, imports dropped 0.9 percent to EUR 24.03 billion.
During the first half of this year, total trade deficit of the country was EUR 7.87 billion versus EUR 11.48 billion in the same period of 2015. Exports gained 2.3 percent, while imports decreased by 0.5 percent.
