MADRID: Nine members of the Hell’s Angels in the province of Málaga and people closely related to the group have been arrested during a Customs and Guardia Civil drugs raid in which 100 kilograms of marijuana and two firearms were seized, following an investigation which began in late 2013.
The Costa del Sol chapter of the Hell’s Angels have been under scrutiny for drug dealing for some time, and it has been found that the group stored large quantities of hashish in warehouses in the Costa del Sol prior to transporting the drugs by car and truck to northern Europe, mainly Denmark and the Netherlands. The investigation revealed a highly organized and structured unit, with strong internal discipline and a strict division of duties among the group members.
As part of the Guardia’s swoop in the Costa del Sol seven homes and one industrial warehouse were searched in the municipalities of Málaga, Benalmádena, Archidona, Coin, Mijas and Marbella, and the fruits of these searches included approximately 100 kilos of marijuana in bags of different sizes, various equipment used in preparing the drug for distribution, 20,000 euros in small denomination notes and various items related to the activities of the Hell’s Angels. The nine people arrested are now in the hands of the courts, and further arrests have not been ruled out.
