ISLAMABAD: The country’s inflation measured by Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) has decreased by 0.09 per cent on the week ended October 08.
According to data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the SPI inflation for the week under review in the above mentioned group was recorded at 217.11 points against 217.31 points registered in the previous week.
Meanwhile, as compared to the corresponding week of last year, SPI for the combined group in the week under review decreased by 0.85 percent as compared to same period of last year.
The weekly SPI has been computed with base 2007-2008=100, covering 17 urban centres and 53 essential items for all income groups and combined.
On the other hand, SPI for the lowest income group up to Rs 8000 was also decreased by 0.02 percent as it went down from 209.07 points in the previous week to 209.3 points in the week under review.
As compared to the last week, the SPI for the income groups from Rs 8001-12,000, Rs 12001-18000, Rs 18001-35000 and above Rs 35000 was decreased by 0.06 percent, 0.08 percent, 0.10 percent and 0.12 percent respectively.
