According to Sprint, the Nexus 6 users have started receiving the Android 5.1 Lollipop update already and the carrier has a dedicated page showcasing what to expect from the new build. Apparently, the Android 5.1 build fetches the new “Lock Screen” notifications feature, along with the new “Recent Apps” menu and the obvious “Material Design” changes. In addition, this Android 5.1 Lollipop update also brings in the 64-bit ART compiler that facilitates faster opening of apps and a new way to prolong the battery life of the Nexus 6 via Project Volta, notes Phone Arena.

On the other hand, this new build apparently fixes a critical issue pertaining to automatically sending duplicate SMS messages. Speaking of enhancements, the Android 5.1 Lollipop update also contains improvements to the MMS messages sent specific to the UK. And lastly, this build also has a fix to prevent accidental Factory Resets.

In addition, the in-store sales of the Nexus 6 will start on March 19. Speaking of the Nexus 6 price, the handset will apparently set the buyers back by $249.99 under a two-year contract. Meanwhile, the Verizon EDGE customers can pay $27.08 per month for 24 months to avail the Nexus 6. Adding a cherry on top, Verizon is also offering six months subscription of Google Play Music All Access, without any charge.
