SRB suspends registration of 9 non-filers

KARACHI: Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has suspended registration of nine non-filers of July 2016 to December 2016.

The tax profiles of the registered persons (RPs), as per list attached, indicated that they were non-filers for the tax period July 2016 to December 2016. Accordingly, the RPs were selected for audit in order to verify their existence and also to examine their records to ascertain the reasons for their non-filing/null filing. RPs were issued notice under section 28(2) of the /Sindh Sales Tax on Service Act 2011 (Act). Notices were sent at their notified addresses as per their SRB registration profiles via courier.

However, the audit notices were returned back undelivered by the courier. Reminders sent at the same addresses were also returned back undelivered. Accordingly, in exercise of the powers conferred under section 25(1)(a)(ii) of the act, the undersigned issued RPs notices for suspension of registration.

These notices were also returned back undelivered, thereby confirming the RPs non-availability at their registered addresses. Meanwhile, as a measure of abundant precaution, the undersigned deputed relevant ACs (Audit) to contact the RPs via their notified Telephone numbers/email addresses and also to visit their notified addresses, to confirm the on-ground position. The ACs (Audit) were further asked to scan the SRB data in order to trace the economic activities of the RPs, if any during the last six tax periods. Besides the ACs were also asked to obtain and examine the stated bank accounts’ activities of the RPs.

As informed by the ACs that the listed RPs could not be contacted via phone or email and no trace of their businesses was found at their notified addresses. After completing all necessary steps as listed above. The summarized factual position is as tabulated/attached herewith.

In view of the foregoing position, the undersigned, in exercise of power conferred under section 25(I) clause (b) of the Act read with Rule-10 further read with SRB circular No.02 of 2013 dated 8-2-2013, hereby requires M/s PRAL to suspend the registration of the RPs by removing their names from the list of registered persons as published on the SRB website and further to block in the system, all activities against the noted SNTNs, with immediate effect, for a period of sixty days starting from today, and immediate the undersigned accordingly, via return mail.

It is further added that, in terms of subsection (4) of section 25 ibid, the undersigned shall revert back to the subject after 60days, to advise PRAL as to whether the suspension of registration of the named RPs is to be withdrawn and the RPs are to be reinstated or if this suspension is to be confirmed by cancelling their registration permanently, under clause © of subsection 5 of section 25 Act ibid.

M/s PRAL is further requested that after removing the names of the RPs blocking them in the aforesaid terms, an appropriate alert may be granted in the system, for the nomination to all concerned for timely action under law, after expiry of 60 days’ time.

  5. Qulzem+, Mezzanine 112-c Badar Commercial, street 11 phase V, DHA, Karachi, however given bank account No. is operative.
  6. VIP Lodges, Room. 18 3rd floor, Bambino chamber, garden road, sadder, Clifton road, however bank account number if fake.
  7. Eagle Advertising, Shop.4, Plot No.19A-D, C Areas, SMCH, Karachi, however, bank account is closed.
  8. Lips Film, 207 J-2, first floor, PECHS block 2, PECHS, Karachi, however bank account has blocked due to fraud.
  9. Shield Point, 72-c, 3rd floor, 11th commercial STR, Phase-II, DHA, Karachi, However bank account was closed since 2012.
