COLOMBO: Sri Lanka Customs Department has been able to achieve the revenue target for the first six months starting from January 01, 2015.
The estimated target for the above period is Rs.355 billion and the revenue collected is Rs.379 billion. This is an increase of 6 percent over the estimated target, Customs Media Spokesman Leslie Gamini said.
Compared to the same period last year, this is an increase of 49 percent.
Director General of Customs R. Semasinghe has stated that this was due to the improved efficiency of the customs and good governance policy.
