COLOMBO: Gold biscuits valued at Rs 2 million, were seized from a passenger who arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) here the other day.
The Customs Department said that the Sri Lankan male, aged 49, had arrived from Singapore on a Srilankan Airlines flight.
When his baggage was checked the authorities found 4 gold biscuits hidden inside weighing 400g, the Customs Department media unit said.
The gold biscuits were confiscated and a penalty of Rs. 50,000 was imposed on the man.
