COLOMBO: Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had met members of the European parliament to press for restoration of a trade concession, which can boost exports and the island’s economy.
Prime Minister Wickremesinghe had pointed to recent improvements in governance, democracy, human rights and ethnic reconciliation in the country.
The Sri Lanka delegation had met Jacek Saryusz-Wolski from a foreign relations committee and Christofer Fjellner from trade relations.
The delegation had also met the EU-Sri Lanka friendship group headed by Geoffrey Van Orden.
