Sri Lanka police seize 22kg heroin in past few months: DIG

COLOMBO: Around 10,399 heroin dealers including seven large scale heroin importers were arrested during the past few months, Senior DIG Pujith Jayasundara who is in charge of the Police Anti-Narcotics Bureau said.

Speaking at a seminar for police personnel in Kurunegala, he said 10,373 raids were conducted countrywide and 22 kgs of heroin were taken into custody.

Meanwhile, another 21,388 raids were conducted and 4,145 kgs of ganja were seized, DIG Jayasundara said.

He said about 21,388 suspects have been been arrested so far over these offences.
