COLOMBO: Sri Lanka will impose a 5 percent tax on ethanol imports and 2 percent tax on sugar to set up price stabilization fund for local sugar cane, Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake said.
Sri Lanka will also give 100 percent capital allowance for local and foreign investors who set up factories of over 2000 tonnes crushing capacity he said in Monegaragal and Batticaloa districts.
They will also be given state land to start out grower models, he said.
