State Bank of Pakistan issues updated list of exchange companies

 KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued updated list up to April 23, 2023 of exchange companies in categories of A and B.

An exchange company is a financial institution that specializes in currency exchange and other related services. These companies allow individuals and businesses to convert one currency into another, often at more competitive rates than traditional banks.

Exchange companies typically offer a range of services, including foreign currency exchange, wire transfers, money orders, traveler’s checks, and prepaid travel cards. Some exchange companies also offer services such as currency hedging and risk management for businesses engaged in international trade.

Exchange companies may operate physical locations such as kiosks or storefronts, or offer online services through their websites or mobile apps. They are regulated by government agencies and may be subject to anti-money laundering laws and other financial regulations.
