Steps taken to recover tax from defaulters to increase resources: Dr. Ayesha Ghous

LAHORE: Provincial Finance Minister Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha has said that steps are being taken to recover tax  from defaulters to increase provincial resources.

Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha expressed these views while presiding over meeting regarding budget preparations.

She said that raising provincial resources government is turning every stone uncovered to decrease burden of revenue receipts  for the poor.

Budget 2016-17 Punjab is arranged while considering reliable economic progress and keeping eye on hurdles, like energy shortage, diminishing security and shortage of trained human power.  She said that energy shortage issue is utmost priority which is effecting from trade to labor and from job holder to retail shops. She said that, in this way effort of federal government is speedily implemented with rendering investments in solar, coal, wind and gas power projects and for this purpose public-private partnership is specially focused.

On this occasion provincial minster congratulated the previous month performance of Punjab revenue authority for record recovery of receipts.   She said that although Punjab government has not fulfilled the desired target regarding tax receipt but these receipts during the current year are higher than that of previous decades and assured that Punjab Revenue Authority will be succeeded through hard work by introducing new reforms.
