Stillwater Chamber names new CEO

NEW YORK: The Stillwater Chamber of Commerce announced the hiring of Ted Allison as the new President/CEO of the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce during the organization’s annual awards gala Friday.

In an a release sent earlier in the day, search committee chairman Larry Green said, ”Ted is bringing to the Stillwater Chamber the perfect background for this position with over 26 years in the economic development field, 18 years as a chamber president/CEO and 10 years as a small business owner and operator, mostly here in Oklahoma.”

Allison was President/CEO of the St. Joseph Metro Chamber of Commerce for six years, managing a staff of 10 with a budget of $1.8 million. While he was in that position, the chamber achieved a five star rating from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as one of the top chambers in the nation, a distinction earned by only 1 percent of the chambers in the county .

Allison was also President/CEO of the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce for 11 years, Director of Business Development for the City of Tulsa-Rogers County Port Authority and owner and operator of Coldwell Banker Allison Real Estate in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in business administration/economics.

He is a graduate of Economic Development and Chamber of Commerce Institutes and was awarded the Certified Economic Developer designation by the International Economic Development Council.
