WASHINGTON: A Shamokin Area High School team held onto first place and teams from Midd-West and Danville Area high schools moved onto to the leader board into fourth and sixth places, respectively, in the stock market competition. Meanwhile, a Lewisburg Area team was still in first place among the middle schools.
In the stock market competition, teams of one or more students each manage a hypothetical investment of $100,000 in stocks, bonds and mutual funds and make buying and trading decisions based on the stock market. The students whose investments make the most money win. The competition runs until April 21. The Northumberland National Bank, The Daily Item and Bloomsburg University’s Zeigler College of Business are co-sponsoring the competition.
