TOKYO: Street Fighter V announcement earlier this month caught everyone by surprise, but it will be quite a while before game fans will be able to get their hands on the game.

In an interview with Famitsu, Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono has stated that the upcoming entry in the series is about “20% complete” at the moment with a lot of work still needs to be done.

It’s not that much of a surprise considering Capcom got done with Ultra Street Fighter IV just a few months back. Also, the footage that fans saw seemed to be in early stages as well.

If the work on Street Fighter V is just 20% done at the moment, then users can safely assume that it will not reach the completion stage before 2016.
