Strong tax base necessary for sound economy: FBR Member Rehmatullah Wazir

SIALKOT: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Member Rehmat Ullah Wazir has assured the tax payers and businessmen that no old tax cases of the taxpayers would be opened who would deposit their tax returns under the FBR’s recently launched tax amnesty scheme. He made this assurance while addressing a largely-attended convention of the local traders, taxpayers and notables at Gujranwala here. Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue Gujranwala Mansur Ahmed Bajwa presided over the convention. Wazir said that all the cases to be submitted before the FBR under this scheme would be exempted from all kinds of the audits..

The FBR member stressed the need for changing the mindset of the people to extend the tax net, saying that bringing the maximum people under the tax net was the task of the FBR which would strengthen the national economy.
