Advocate Umer Awan, the counsel for the applicant stated that the accused, who is working for the M/S Saani Impex, was unaware of the registration of the FIR against him and subsequent submission of challan in the Custom and Taxation Court. He said his client was ready to surrender before the Court concerned and face the charges. He, therefore, requested the Court to grant protective bail to enable the applicant to appear before relevant the Court.

The custom officials alleged that the M/S Saani Impex had imported the consignment of jewelry and gold and subsequent clearance against fake and forged Form-E in order to avoid realization of foreign remittances in Pakistan which constitute an offence under the customs laws.

It was stated that the bank concerned had also confirmed the Form-E was fabricated.
