RAWALPINDI: With the increasing demand of sugar, the commodity has disappeared from almost all Sasta Ramazan Bazaars in Rawalpindi.

Despite special orders by the District Administration of installing sugar stalls at the Sasta Bazaars, almost all stalls are empty now due to increased demand of sugar. A few stalls where the sugar is available, people have to stand in long queues for hours in scorching heat to purchase the commodity.

According to sources, it was witnessed that the sugar was almost non-existent in the Sasta Ramazan Bazaar at the Committee Chowk and the Haideri Chowk. The visitors said the commodity is sold in the retail market through black marketing, depriving the citizens of a cheap service.

However, an official at the District Coordination Office (DCO) has claimed that that there is no shortage of sugar at the Bazaars.
