Sugar mills start giving 4.5MW electricity to national grid

BAHAWALPUR: The sugar mills in Bahawalpur have started supplying their self-produced electricity to the Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco).

The mills are supplying 4.5 megawatt electricity to the national grid, said Mepco Deputy Director Technical Engineer Mubashar Rizvi Monday. He said that the crushing season has started at sugar mills and power generated from these sugar mills is being added to the national grid. The main contributor of electricity is Ashraf Sugar Mills Bahawalpur.
