Sugarcane growers advised to utilize proper fertilizers

MULTAN: Agriculture experts advised sugarcane growers to utilize proper fertilizers for getting maximum production of spring sugarcane crop.

According to an agriculture spokesperson, sugarcane growers should utilized third instalment of nitrogen fertilizer by end of recent month of June. Growers should also removed weeds from the crop as it could decrease the sugarcane production by 50 percent.

He said growers should irrigate sugarcane crop timely as per acre production could be affected from it. Growers advised to irrigate sugarcane crop five to six times from 10 to 12 days gap during the months of May and June.

He said growers could spray on sugarcane crop after consultation with field staff of agriculture department (extension and pest warning)
