Sukkur I&I foils bid to smuggle narcotics from Quetta to Karachi

SUKKUR: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) team seized 50 kilograms of fine quality hashish valuing approximately Rs 6.0 million in open market.

Sources said that information was received through a credible source through Director Saleem Memon to Deputy Director Saleem Larik that huge quantity of smuggled narcotics was tactfully hidden in the cavities of loader Rickshaw has been transported for further illicit trafficking and disposal.

ASO l&I Range Office Sukkur formed a team under the supervision of Superintendent Mashooque Ali Panhwar, Maqbool Ahmed Rind, Intelligence Officers & Sepoys, Zubair All & Faris Saeed was deputed to intercept the said loader Rickshaw.

Accordingly, ASO kept surveillance and the vehicle was intercepted standing beside sports complex situated at Shikarpur to Sukkur road.

The driver was apprehended who admitted that charas is loaded in the rickshaw. He further disclosed that the axle rod of said rickshaw is broken and he was waiting for assistance. The examination of the vehicle led recovery of 50 kilograms of hashish.

FIR is lodged and further investigation is underway.
