Sunday bazaar administrations directed to install rate lists

ISLAMABAD: The district administration in Islamabad, Capital Development Authority (CDA), has directed all the Sunday bazaar administrations to ensure implementation of rate lists and food standards at the markets.

CDA Member Administration Amir Ali Ahmed had directed the officials to ensure effective monitoring at the bazaars. Ahmed chaired a meeting to review arrangements at the weekly bazaars on Sunday.

In-charge weekly bazaars Liaquat Abbasi said the administration had taken steps to provide fresh and quality edible items at affordable rates. He said licences of 11 stalls have been suspended during Ramazan for over-charging.

Abbasi said rates of edible items including potato, onion, tomato, ginger, garlic, lemon, green chili, lady finger, peas, brinjal, white pumpkin, bell peeper, bitter gourd, apple, banana, mango and melon at CDA bazaars were lower than those in the open markets.
